I have been playing this lately. I picked it up real cheap so I thought I'd give it a shot. The gaming community absolutely sucks; it is a bunch of 12 year olds with poor, vulgar vocabulary. If you can get past that, this game can be quite fun. I've been playing with two other guys I work with, so it's not too bad. There is just 3 other morons or more in the game.
I wouldn't consider this game a true strategy game. It is similar to LotR:BfME, that it is more fighting based and less on the resources. I've been playing custom maps, like different Towers and Heroes maps. They don't last too long usually, which is nice. You can get a bunch of games in...
